What is Ashtanga Yoga?
Ashtanga Yoga is the ancient eight limbed science of self realization. Utilizing the synchronization of breath and movement in Vinyasa, an internal "fire", or heat is cultivated. Through regular and consistent practice, this internal cleansing heat increases the circulation of oxygen rich blood, nourishing and detoxifying the internal organs, musculature, cardiovascular, immune, endocrine, digestive, reproductive and nervous systems. Increasing flexibility and strength, Ashtanga Yoga improves coordination, stamina, concentration and clarity of the mind. Benefiting and balancing the internal and external body, practitioners experience a deepened sense of well being and contentment mentally, physically and spiritually.
